Introduction to Biblical Interpretation
About This Course
This course introduces students to foundational principles of biblical interpretation, including genre analysis, historical context, literary structure, and canonical coherence. Students learn to distinguish observation from interpretation and interpretation from application.
Emphasis is placed on disciplined reading habits, contextual awareness, and theological responsibility. Students engage both Old and New Testament texts while developing skills necessary for responsible study.
By the end of the course, students demonstrate competency in interpreting Scripture carefully, avoiding reductionism, and articulating coherent theological conclusions grounded in textual evidence.
